STNDRD Bags #Review

I received the following product(s) in exchange for an honest review

STNDRDBags.com carries a large assortment of school backpacks, water bottles and lunch boxes from some of the top backpack and accessory bands like Alpinestars, Dakine, DC, Electric, Fox, Volcom, Roxy, Quiksilver, and Neff to name a few. A portion of all sales goes towards school fundraising programs.

I received the Electric Everyday Backpack for my teenage daughter to review.

Electric Everyday Backpack (Black)

My daughter's wardrobe consists mainly of black and grays so she had no qualms in choosing this backpack made by Electric Backpacks. It came right on time as her other backpack (just purchased a few months ago by the way) broke the same week we received this one.

Easy Peasy Lunch With a Little Help From @GortonsSeafood #RealFabulous #Review #Giveaway

I recently received the opportunity to participate in the Gorton's Blogger Program where I received coupons for free products to try out as well as some cool kitchen gifts!

Gorton's Real Fabulous Review

I'll be the first to admit that I don't eat much seafood. Not because I don't like it, its just usually kind of expensive and I was never too sure about the more affordable options.

Having the opportunity to try out some of Gorton's products for free has really opened a door for my family and I found out that my kids love their fish sticks. Score!

While I'm also a fan of fish sticks, I was more excited to try out Gorton's Grilled Salmon.

Gorton's Grilled Salmon

This package contained 2 grilled salmon fillets that could be cooked in the oven or microwave. I opted for the oven and tossed a bag of frozen squash from last year's harvest into the steamer. In under 20 minutes I had a delicious, healthy lunch!

I thought that I was the only one in the house that liked salmon but it turns out my 4 year old is a fan too! She ate almost 3/4 of this herself. Luckily I cooked both of the patties so we both enjoyed it.

If this looks like something that you'd enjoy you should definitely head over to Gorton's to download a coupon. There are also many recipe ideas if you want to get a little more fancy.

While you're there be sure to enter the Gorton's Seafood Real Fabulous Sweepstakes for your chance to win the $1000 Makeover Grand Prize, plus lots of daily prizes!

You can connect with them on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest as well. Be sure to tell them I sent you!

Gorton's is also allowing me to host a giveaway where one lucky winner from this blog will receive their own Gorton's Seafood prize pack which will include 2 full-value coupons for Gorton's products, 1 pair of Gorton's branded oven mitts, a Gorton's spatula and an assortment of recipe cards.

Cariloha Bamboo Sheets #Review

Since I started this blog I've received many products for review purposes. The Bamboo Sheets from Cariloha are by far the best thing that I have gotten!

Cariloha is a premier, luxury-brand retailer of products made from bamboo, offering apparel and accessory collections for men and women.

Cariloha Bamboo Goods

To be honest, when I thought of bamboo in the past I always thought it may be itchy or stiff. Just another alternative that we suffer through to help save the planet and all that. I'm not sure what brought these thoughts on, its just always what I imagined when bamboo came to mind. I had no idea how wrong I was!

These sheets are absolutely amazing! There is just no other word that describes it. When you first wash them and put them on they ripple just like silk. It feels so good just to hold them.

When you lay down on these bamboo sheets, no matter the temperature, its just perfect. I'm not really sure how that works and the only way I know to explain this is the sheets feel just like home.

I chose the Sage colored sheets. You also have a choice of White, Ivory, Tan, and Blue.

Obviously I'm a new bamboo enthusiast, but instead of hearing me ramble on (which I could) here are some facts about bamboo from Cariloha:

Bamboo Sheets
Bamboo is the world's most comfortable material and is twice as soft as cotton. Our exclusive bamboo fabric is 3 degrees cooler than cotton and wicks moisture away from your body. Bamboo is naturally antibacterial and is considered the most eco-friendly sustainable, renewable resource known on the planet!
I would buy them just because they are so comfortable, but there are so many other reasons to give it a try. After this experience I've even considered growing my own bamboo to make this stuff but that is (of course) a completely unrealistic goal.

I think I'll stick with Cariloha for my bamboo. You should check them out too! You can find them at http://www.cariloha.com/. Also connect on Facebook and Twitter

Also be sure to check out their blog for more information on bamboo and sustainability. And clothes! They have clothes too! That's next on my list now that I know what bamboo feels like I'm dying to try some outfits!

Make sure to tell them I said hello!

Refocusing For The New Year - I'm Back to Work!

Happy New Year everyone!

Happy New Year

I hope everyone is doing well and had a great holiday season. This was the first year in many that my husband was home for New Years, every other year he has had to get right back to work after Christmas so having him here was great.

He'll also be home for our daughter's 4th birthday (its tomorrow!) which also doesn't happen that often. He works on the road and we usually are pretty broke this time of year and can't turn down the work.

Blogging has really helped us out this past year and we had a great Christmas for the first time in a long while and I am very thankful for that. Blogging has allowed me to get things that I generally wouldn't have been able to afford.

Around the holidays it occurred to me that running these blogs has given me so many new opportunities to help my family (financial and otherwise). That also made me wonder if I am giving back to you guys the same as you have given to me.
