Drop Shaped Salt Lamp From The New Age Source ~ Review

I received the following in exchange for an honest review.

The New Age Source is an online store specializing in products and gifts intended to help all those who are seeking their own light. Meditation tools, crystals, incense, talismans, and tea sets are just a few of the categories you will find there.

I was particularly interested in the Salt Lamps being offered, I had heard that they are natural air purifiers and that was just what I was looking for. I've seen salt lamps around the web and have been wanting one for some time, I'd never seen the Drop Salt Lamp until I happened upon this site.

According to the New Age Source blog, salt lamps are among the Five Best Relaxing Products to have have, second only to candles. Since receiving my own lamp, I can understand why. Aside from being so unique, it emits a soft warming glow that, in itself, instantly promotes a peaceful atmosphere. After being on for just a few minutes there is a noticeable change in the air surrounding it.

Salt lamps are multi-purpose. They help clean the air while their soft light creates an aura of beauty and relaxation. Salt lamps are often used to not only remove allergens and impurities from the air itself, but to change the particle charge of the area, improving mood and enhancing relaxation as a result. Salt crystal lamps come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They use tealight candles or low-watt bulbs to emit a soft glow that is instantly soothing.

This particular lamp comes with a low-watt bulb that fits snugly into its wooden base using the UL & CE certified cord. Besides the Drop Salt Lamp, The New Age Source offers a variety of other salt lamps including the Himalayan, the Bowl, and Zen lamps. They also have some iceberg lamps that are powered by USB cords!

   

You can truly get lost looking around this site. My second favorite category includes the boxes. I love collecting beautiful boxes and this store offers so many great ones to choose from. I use them to store various rocks and crystals that I have picked up over the years.

         

Overall this lamp is a wonderful product and I'm so glad that I was able to review it. This is something that I can keep and use for years to come.

Lunches Around the World with Little Passports!

Here are some fun and interesting facts about lunches from around the world from Little Passports. I did not know that vending machines are banned from schools in France because of their high fat and sugar content! There's so much more to learn too, check it out....

Kids around the world are preparing to go back to school—that means homework, new friends and … lunch? Yes, that’s right! Let’s visit different countries and see what yummy food the school kids eat every day!

France- French children enjoy a 3 or 4-course meal that is made from high-quality ingredients, and are mostly made from scratch. The children all sit in the same eating area, the cafeteria. An interesting fact is that there are no vending machines in schools, because they’re banned due to the high sugar and fat content of the treats they carry. Typical school lunches here can have a variety of dishes and ingredients, such as grilled fish, salad, red beans, seasonal vegetables, garlic sausage, fruit salads and chocolate flan (just to name a few). Another perk is that the food is served on plates and eaten with real silverware!

Japan- In Japan, the school lunch ingredients are locally sourced and almost never frozen; in addition, the schools employ nutrition experts that work with kids and teach them the importance of good eating habits. Like the children in France, Japanese kids also eat in a community-like setting with their peers, and even their teachers! The children also wear white hats and robes to serve their classmates, which teaches them teamwork and respect. You can expect to find lots of rice, vegetables, fish, soup, and meat on the plate. 

South Africa- South African school meals have natural ingredients such as corn, squash, sweet potatoes, and yams. There’s also rice, soft porridge, and meat that is sprinkled in with the vegetables. A special stew is made called potjiekos (named after a potjie, a three-legged pot), which originated from Dutch settlers. The cook puts vegetables, meat, potatoes, and spices into the pot, which is heated by small amounts of wood and twigs. After cooking, the result is a delectable stew!

Colombia- Colombian school lunch ingredients usually vary from region to region, but can contain rice, potatoes, fruit, beans, meatballs, and vegetables such as corn and avocados. There’s a special vegetarian menu also available, and children from 2 to 5 years old have their food cut and portioned into smaller sizes.

Research Suggests 10 Natural Foods May Help Cure Type 1 Diabetes

I just saw this article over at Wake Up World and thought it was pretty amazing. A possible cure for Type 1 Diabetes would be life changing for so many people suffering from the disease. Oransi Robby Laundry Eco-Wash Balls - Review

I was VERY excited to receive this little laundry ball. Not only does it cover my laundry for an entire YEAR, but its eco-friendly and great for sensitive skin!

Over the past few years I have developed a sensitivity to many detergents that I was previously able to use without a problem. I'm not sure how this came about. I've never had any other allergy issues to speak of so it was quite a surprise when I started getting rashes along my waist and neck-lines. 

It took me awhile to figure out, mainly because I'd never experienced it before. You always get asked if you've changed laundry detergent recently. Well, I hadn't changed my detergent, but my skin changed.

I started using the same brands of detergent but I got the hypo-allergenic versions instead. That still didn't seem to cut it. Then I used some homemade laundry detergent that was natural but I just didn't like the way that it smelled.

These Eco-Wash Balls have turned out to be the perfect solution. It is made for the laundry, yet eco-friendly, which I LOVE.

I've been using it for about two weeks now and guess what? NO RASHES! I'm thrilled! I've had doctors try to prescribe me steroids over this issue! Hmm, let's see, steroids or 1 laundry ball that lasts a year, costs only about $33, and is eco-friendly. I'll take the laundry ball!
