doTERRA Wild Orange Review and Giveaway

Cold-pressed from the orange peel, wild orange is excellent for energizing and revitalizing. It is also commonly used as an effective tool for uplifting mood, as well as for its wonderful citrus aroma.

I'm very excited about this month's doTERRA review and giveaway because we are featuring the Wild Orange Essential Oil which is my absolute favorite scent. I use it for cleaning mostly as it is a great for disinfecting. Another plus is that even while it cleans its also helping to give you a nice little energetic boost with its aromatherapy effects.

What I did not know is that there are other help benefits in using Wild Orange such as its effectiveness is fighting off symptoms of colds and flu, supports the elimination toxins from the body, while stimulating the lymphatic system AND can be effective as an anti-cancer agent due to Wild Orange’s main constituent, limonene, which has powerful anti-cancer activity.

For cleaning, I use it with my steam mop. I put a few drops on the floor around the area that I'm about to steam, smells great and helps with disinfecting. I've also added it to my homemade cleaning solutions.

Since reading more about it I've put it on my navel (as suggested) and also around my neck area so that I can smell it throughout the day.

Wild Orange is also one of doTerra's more affordable oils at only $10.50 which is a really great value for all the uses that it offers. Remember, a little goes a long way!

One lucky reader will have the opportunity to try this great oil for themselves because I will be giving one away! This giveaway is open to US Residents only, aged 18+, void where prohibited. Enter using the Rafflecopter below! (Giveaway ends on November 15th at 11:01pm cst)

doTERRA Deep Blue Roll On 10 ml

doTERRA DigestZen Review and Giveaway (Giveaway Ends 9/14/13)

This month I received doTERRA's DigestZen for review from My Natural Family's blogger review program.

doTERRA DigestZen - replace all your other remedies for food allergies, heartburn, bloating, cramps, the flu, diarrhea, food poisoning & the list goes on and on . . .

DigestZen is an essential oil blend used to help alleviate all sorts of digestive ailments. It is a combination of ginger, peppermint, tarragon, fennel, caraway, coriander and anise which all help to increase the effectiveness of this powerful blend.

Here are just a few of the uses for DigestZen™…

*Heartburn:
Add one drop of oil to rice or almond milk and drink
*Bloating and cramps:
Flavor water with 5 drops and drink
*Diarrhea and other digestive issues:
Apply topically on the abdomen or take internally by placing 1-2 drops in an empty capsule and swallowing.
*Congestion:
Diffusing into the air with our Lotus Diffuser can help clear up mucus.
*Food poisoning:
Add 6 drops to 8oz of water. Swish around in the mouth, and swallow. Place 1-2 drops in an empty capsule, and swallow.
*Helps with Abdominal Cramps, Bloating, Constipation, Diarrhea, Digestive Problems, Food Allergies, Food Poisoning, Heartburn, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Nausea, Salmonella, and Stomachaches.

I've personally used the DigestZen for instances of over-eating or generally upset tummies at home. My youngest (who is three) frequently has belly-aches. Obviously there is something that's not agreeing with her but I haven't been able to figure it out yet. I apply the DigestZen to the soles of her feet (diluted with some coconut oil) and she feels so much better.

I tried once telling her it was perfume and put it on her belly but the smell is pretty potent for her and she didn't like after a few minutes. That's why I love the fact that these oils do great on the soles of the feet. I feel like I'm building an all natural medicine cabinet!

For myself, the few times that I've had stomach upset I dilute a few drops in a cup of water and drink it. It tastes a little like black licorice, not unpleasant and its like taking a miracle tonic. This stuff works for heartburn, overeating, diarrhea, and Irritable Bowel which I have personally had issues with.

My doctor had prescribed me a medication for it which completely dries me out, makes my mouth taste like I'm chewing on cotton and I hate it. DigestZen has completely replaced it. I highly recommend those looking for natural solutions to common stomach ailments give this stuff a try. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed.

Find out more about DigestZen here and one lucky reader is going to win their own bottle! Enter using the Rafflecopter below. A winner will be chosen using random.org. This contest will run through September 14, 2013 at 11:01pm cst. Open to US only, 18+

doTERRA Introduction to Essential Oils Kit Review

This month's doTERRA Essential Oil review includes the Introduction to Essential Oils Kit. I received this kit from My Natural Family in exchange for an honest review.

This kit includes the doTERRA Peppermint, Lavender, and Lemon Essential Oils in 5 ml bottles. It also includes an introductory audio CD and booklet highlighting the uses of essential oils.

This is a wonderful product for those interested in trying essential oils for the first time or those just looking for a refresher. There are so many uses listed!

Here are a few that I've tried personally:

Lemon Essential Oil Uses

Lemon Essential Oil to clean kitchen counters and stainless steel. If you want a citrusy scent, this oil has got it in the bag. Just a few drops diluted in water and you've got a wonderful smelling (and CLEAN) kitchen.

I also use the lemon oil along with my floor steamer. I sprinkle a few drops around the floor before I get started and spread it around while mopping.

Lemon is also said to repel fleas, evidently the little blood suckers don't like citrus so that's an extra bonus for me because I have an inside/outside dog (or he has us, however you want to see it)

Peppermint Essential Oil Uses

Peppermint Essential Oil is great for digestion. If I'm feeling nauseous I can rub a few drops on my stomach or the soles of my feet to help ease it.

If I'm feeling overheated, I'll wet a wash cloth with cold water and a few drops of peppermint oil and it really helps to cool me down. Its especially great for this hot Tennessee weather.

Use it in your shampoo for a stimulating hair and scalp massage. It feels sooo good! (and tingly)

Just inhale it! You can inhale a bit of peppermint oil for a quick non-stimulant pick-me-up. It helps with concentration too!

Lavender Essential Oil Uses

Lavender is perhaps the opposite of peppermint when it comes to stimulation. Lavender has long been known in aromatherapy to calm a person and help ease stress. Put it on your pillow before bed to help you drift off to sleep, add a few drops to your bath salts for an even more relaxing bath, or add it to your lotion!

Lavender will also help soothe itchy bug bites, sunburns, and diaper rash.

doTERRA Breathe Essential Oil Blend Review

I was provided this doTERRA Breathe Essential Oil Blend product by My Natural Family free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

About the Product

doTERRA’s Breathe Essential Oil Blend – Antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, expectorant, cell and tissue repair, asthma relief; using Breathe can give relief from colds, bronchitis, sore throats, sinusitis, coughs and respiratory congestion. Decongests sinus passages, combats lung infections and relieves allergy symptoms.

My Review

I received my doTERRA Breathe on sunny spring day and I have to admit that my first thought was "I wish I would've got this 2 months ago during the cold season". But, as luck would have it, two of my little ones ended up with spring coughs so I was able to test the effectiveness of this product.

Both times, it was one of those coughs that only comes about when they laid down for bed. About 30 minutes after bedtime I heard the first dry, hacking cough. My first thought was to reach for our usual cough medicine until I remembered my doTERRA Breathe.

My 7 year old, who was the first guinea pig, thought I was a little crazy because I'd never used any type of chest rub on her before. I don't have a diffuser so I spread a little on my fingers and rubbed it into her chest. She said it smelled "funny" but didn't seem to mind, especially after the coughing subsided about 15-20 minutes later!

(The directions say to apply topically, dilute with doTerra Fractionated Coconut Oil. I didn't have this so I mixed it with a little coconut oil that I have at home)

The following night, the cough started again and before I could even reach for my Breathe, my daughter asked me for "that stuff you put on me last night".

My three year old was not as pleased. She doesn't like anything "rubbed" on her unless its lotion that she's rubbing on herself. I expected that though so I made sure she didn't see the bottle before I put it on her. She wasn't happy about it, she didn't like the smell, but it stopped her cough without having to get her drink any medicine so I was pleased.

Had I been thinking clearly I would have remembered to rub it in on the soles of her feet instead. Luckily there have been no more coughs as of yet but if there are, I will definitely go that route with my smallest one.

And for the record, Breathe DOES NOT smell bad. Its just not something that they are used to. It actually has a pleasant smell (from a grown-up's perspective).

I'm really glad that I got the opportunity to try this blend. I am another step further along my green journey now. We won't be using any more cough syrup.

The Breathe Blend is said to be really useful for allergies as well so I will keep you updated on how it works for that!

Make sure you stay tuned for the Green Your Summer Hop for your chance to win your own bottle of doTERRA Breathe Essential Oil Blend!
