When we received our products we had to charge the Scruff Sculptor and the 

Professional Do it Yourself Back Hair Shaver for 24 hours just like you would with any other re-chargeable item, and of course as soon as they came off charge my husband was using them. He loved them! When he was finished shaving his face looked very neat and clean cut and he actually did his ears!
