Hemp Hearts - An Easy Way to Add EFAs, Protein, Omega-3 & Omega-6 Into Your Diet

There has been a lot of misinformation thrown around about Hemp. Its to the point that many people are actually concerned that by eating Hemp Food products they would fail a drug test! This couldn't be further from the truth, in fact hemp contains only 0.001% THC. That is nowhere near enough to cause any type of side effects.

There are really many benefits to adding hemp to your diet. I have personally been searching for natural ways to balance my hormones. I've seen ads on TV about hormone replacement therapy and did my own research into the subject.

Hemp is one of the items that came up for hormone balancing!

Women Find Healthy Hormone Balance with Hemp
Great improvements in hormonal balance have been noted by the addition of Hemp to the diet.  Hemp contains the perfect balance of EFA's, and is one of the only plants to contain GLA so the body does not have to rely on converting it.  Adding (1-2) Tablespoons of Manitoba Harvest Hemp Oil, or (3-5) Tablespoons of Manitoba Harvest Hemp Seed a day, is a delicious, easy way to assist in achieving natural hormone balance and vibrant, health.

Hemp also contains other vital nutrients that our bodies need like protein and Omega-3 & Omega-6.

Omega-6's in Balance
It is important to remember that Omega-6 is an essential fatty acid that is necessary for optimal health.  We must obtain Omega-6 from the diet, as the body cannot synthesize it on its own.  Concerns associated with Omega-6 can be traced to the fact that the average Western diet today often contains too much Omega-6 in relation to the Omega-3 fatty acid. The World Health Organization recommends a ratio of 4:1 Omega-6 to Omega-3 for optimal health. Today we are seeing ratios in the range of 20:1 to 50:1. The good news - hemp contains a healthy winning ratio at 3.75:1.
To find out more about how hemp can be beneficial for pregnant and nursing moms, soon to be dads, children with autism, and those with heart disease (and more!) you should really check out the Ask Ashley section at Manitoba Harvest Hemp Foods.
